Chef Sukesh Kale Story & Culinary Journey
A Journey Carved in Fire, Family, and Flavor
Roots of a Culinary Legacy
The journey began in 1931, when my grandfather ran a traditional sweet house, while my grandmother managed a government canteen. This deep-rooted culinary heritage laid the foundation for a third-generation passion.
A Childhood in the Kitchen
Growing up in a family of cooks, I began my journey at just 7 years old — helping my father at a tiffin centre before and after school. Long days, early mornings, and financial struggles shaped my discipline and love for cooking.
Learning Beyond Borders
Determined to turn passion into profession, I pursued hospitality education and trained at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai. My journey continued with Anantara (Abu Dhabi) and Norwegian Cruise Line, gaining global exposure and mastering diverse cuisines.
Resilience Through Challenges
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I returned to India and faced one of the toughest phases of my career. With resilience, I adapted — working as a consultant chef and rebuilding my journey step by step.
Chef, Innovator, Visionary
Now serving as Executive Chef at Lake District by Minerva, I blend tradition with innovation — working on millet-based, healthier food concepts while continuing my family’s legacy on a global stage.
